Earthquake Update

As I was writing this morning about how the tremor we had was "fun," a little part of me worried that perhaps it had been destructive elsewhere. It turns out it had.

According to this article, a 7.1 magnitute earthquake hit off the coast of Ishikawa Prefecture (the prefecture bordering Gifu to the northwest) at 9:42. It lasted about 30 seconds, just as I'd counted. One woman was killed and there was damage and other casualties.
